Дарина: З Данилом ми познайомились давно, з фотографічної київської тусовки. На своїй кухні Даня зробив один з моїх улюблених портретів. Ми говорили про мистецтво, фотографію, математику. Тепер ми говоримо ще й про війну. І виходимо на балкон викурити цигарку.

Daryna: Danylo and I met a long time ago, through Kyiv’s photography scene. In his kitchen, Danya made one of my favorite portraits of me. We talked about art, photography, mathematics. Now we also talk about the war. And step out onto the balcony to smoke a cigarette.

Але як мені, цивільній, говорити про війну з військовим? В мене немає такого досвіду — я можу «уявити», та я не «знатиму», як це. Але й історії Дані — це не про трагізм, це про буденні речі, про комічні ситуації, про дружбу. Я ж можу слухати, сміятися разом і трошки краще зрозуміти.

But how do I, a civilian, talk about war with a soldier? I don’t have that experience — I can imagine it, but I will never know it. Yet Danya’s stories aren’t about tragedy. They’re about ordinary things, about absurd situations, about friendship. And I can listen, laugh along, and understand just a little bit more.

Робота показується на планшеті з навушниками. Глядач може переключатися між «сторінками» — аудіо та текстовими історіями. Аудіофайли — це повідомлення Данила з нашого листування в телеграмі, записи з навчань та бойових, розмови в машині. Тексти писалися по дорозі на службу — в машині, в метро.

  The work is displayed on a tablet with headphones. The viewer can switch between “pages” — audio and text stories. The audio files are Danylo’s messages from our Telegram conversation, recordings from training and combat missions, and talks in the car. The texts were written on the way to service — in the car, on the metro.
